If drilling mud is stored or left to stand still the particles in the mud will settle out on the tank floor, creating huge sedimentation problems. These sediments are both time-consuming, costly to clean out manually and almost impossible to pump. Often different shapes of tanks are being used making it very hard to use conventional non-submersible agitators or mud gun systems.
