Using ITT Flygt heavy duty slurry pumps
At Sandvik Steel, Sweden, strip steel for saws is ground to customer specifications. The heavy grinding machines are cooled by oil, which also removes abrasive metallic waste and contaminants from the grinding process. Two years ago, the company installed submersible slurry pumps model 5100 from ITT Flygt. After pumping abrasive slurry for 16 hours per day since then, the Flygt pumps continue to give trouble-free operation and require virtually no maintenance.
